Minimize regulations to only regualation that are highest
priority:  Safety, non-abuse of citizens, protect from
    excesses of people or organizations

Analyzing needs for training and jobs to support needs (hard to do on one's own, logical for larger entity with more resources to do it)

SOCIAL ISSUES

Not to impose one group's values to harm of another
Teach
    Tolerance and understanding
     Emotional intelligence and character
     Happiness principles and practices
Economic principles:  Capitalism and other isms
taught by knowledgeable people who are not
         prejudiced
Right to choose - Education (w/o bias) so the
   choice is well-informed
Gay rights, equal, but not tread on others' cherished
beliefs (have civil unions not called 'marriage')
The environment - Put it into perspective, teach what is
practical, a logical, written plan of priorities
Guns
   Ban on assault weapons.
Control of guns (not rely on 'shows')

THE WORLD

Stop policing the world and imposing our values on other countries.  (Encouragement is fine, but not from a superior position.)

Trade - Open and free; treat other nations as they treat us (China - correct the imbalance, give them the choice)

Protecting and supporting Israel - And doing what we can for the Palestinians if they cooperate; not impose ourselves on Israel or Palestinians.

Iran - If you develop a nuclear bomb or are within a year of doing so, we will take out the facilities that contain them.  We request cooperation and will be happy to work with you, but we will not allow you to become a threat to the world.

PRINCIPLES AND "WHAT WORKS"

You cannot focus on one thing when another  occupies
the space (e.g. politics, blame, etc. gets in the way of
   problem solving)
Personal responsibility works and should be taught
Opportunity (and education to take advantage of it)
and not entitlement without paying into it except
when unable to provide for self)
Operate from the 80/20 rule (highest benefits per amount
of effort, always shifting to the next highest)
The government does not run or manage things well and
lacks incentives.  Reward for cost savings.
Use private where possible, competition, quality checks
   and incentives.
Pay for what you want and not impose it on others
Abortion funded in charities one can contribute to
   Arts, special interest items

SAFETY OF THE CITIZENS

Reprioritizing defense spending, using effectiveness priorities for the safety of the citizens, above protecting USA interests (oil independence would save us defense money)

An established national safety standard and supplements where needed (such as poor areas)
POLITICS

- Each candidate commit to that the President must represent all the people first, persuading and teaching but respecting the decisions of the citizens
- Teach rational rating systems for voting
- Use information systems/communication for candidates and eliminate political donations completely, as it is a function of national or state interest so should be paid by
- Informed citizens - Teach/explain, with both sides presented, issues that are to be voted on and/or are in the interests of the citizens; and then polling to see what the citizens choose

ECONOMIC PRIORITIES - GOVERNMENT

The smallest possible government, not throwing out the baby with the bathwater

Spending effectively, beneficially

Privatizing the post office and sharing in the savings
Stop special interest spending - No right to impose that cost on others.

A balanced budget law, building in override only by 2/3 vote for emergencies.

A complete long term plan for the next ten years.

The Citizen Master Loan Account - "A pay for the benefits if able" principle.  To provide total access to all citizens to education, covering emergencies not coverable otherwise, unemployment costs and other benefits needed

Taxes

A broader tax base, so that citizens choose more carefully what to spend on, and minimize those who are trying to just get more benefits without earning them or being responsible.

A national sales tax of 5% until the deficits are eliminated.

Until deficit is better solved, a 3-5% surtax above $200 K ($250K for couples), being careful not to use this as permission for representatives to spend our money without thought.  (Competitively to other nations our tax rates are reasonable.)

Make corporate tax rates competitive with other countries, so bring business back to the US. 25% but without deductions.

Bring back at a 4% tax rate one time for all profits held overseas, so that there is more money to invest here.

Eliminate duplicative taxes on earnings by eliminating estate taxes.

Eliminate interest deductions for home loans above a reasonable amount.

THE WORLD

SOCIAL SECURITY, MEDICARE, HEALTH CARE

Stop the lack of confronting and educate the nation on this so they see the lack of financial integrity and the problems down the road!

Social Security - Raise age and/or combine with larger pay-in, means testing so that those who don't need it leave the money for those who do need it.  We can't afford to reduce the benefits per se.

Medicare - Citizens decide the combination of what to pay in and what responsibility for the medical costs, assuring the poor are covered, means testing to shift moneys from those who don't need it to those who do.  Total coverage against financial calamity for all. (See health care below.)

Health care - Use

The efficiencies of the market,
Build in the incentives for people to choose better, Educate extensively,
Data bases and checklists available easily to citizens, Manage the waste and improper expenses,
Educate (with free choice) on end of life decisions (and
obligation to pay from assets if any after death), Government efficiency studies and best practices
    studies and implementation.
Preserve "no preexisting conditions" exclusion for health
    insurance and
Preseve provision to allow children up until 26 to be on
    parent's policies and then
Dramatically improve the costly and imprudent
"Affordable Health Care Act", cancelling it and
building a new one the right way.

SOCIAL/ECONOMIC ISSUE: EDUCATION

Education is both a social issue and a great determinant of one's economic situation.

Upgrade dramatically the online availability and quality of teaching modules, with computers in all classrooms.

Bring up, through all means available, even incurring higher costs, those who are in cultures/areas where there are poor values and education.

Use competition as a means of increasing quality and effectiveness, with charter schools but with guidance and standards.
SOCIAL/ECONOMIC ISSUE - IMMIGRATION

Illegal immigration - Prohibitively high penalties for
    employers; improve deportation speed and ease;
selective benefits where helps the nation
Clarify/install - No automatic citizenship if
            born in USA.
Guest worker permits - Where appropriate to fill needs
and where Americans will not take the jobs
Protecting the border - Against illegal entry, especially for
terrorists; improve technology for detecting and alerting
English as the national language - Better communication
Keeping highly educated students here for economic
   benefit of the nation
SOCIAL/ECONOMIC ISSUE - WELFARE

Cover basic needs for those who are not able
Centralize (and protect) to areas, special efficiencies
Teach and require responsibility for others
Extensive incentives (and disincentives)
